Known today as the “Library of the College” was founded in 1785 and continues in front of the school “Nacional Buenos Aires”.
In the Librería de Ávila there are not only avid readers, students looking for textbooks or parents buying manuals. Between shelves and tables crammed with books more than one hundred thousand copies, tourists take photos attracted by its history.
One of the posters reads: “the oldest bookstore on the planet (althogut there is one older, in Portugal). In the background, you hear tangos that come from an old record player. Upon entering, you travel as in a time capsule.
