Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Verbum Spanish School respects your privacy. This policy explains what information may be collected through our website and communications, why it is collected, how it may be used, which third-party services may receive it, and the choices available to you.
Verbum handles personal information in accordance with applicable Argentine data protection law, including Law 25,326.
Verbum is based at Jerónimo Salguero 553, C1177 Buenos Aires, Argentina. For privacy questions, contact info@verbum.biz.
Information you provide to us
You may voluntarily provide information when contacting Verbum, enquiring about courses, subscribing to our newsletter or free resource, or completing the Spanish Level Test.
Depending on the form or communication, this may include your name, surname, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, nationality, Spanish level, course interest, preferred start date, self-assessment and test answers, written messages, and other information you choose to include. Each form asks for different information; not every form collects every field. WhatsApp or phone number is optional in the current Contact and Level Test forms.
Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry. Information sent directly by email or WhatsApp is received through those communication channels.
Contact forms
The homepage enquiry form sends the name, email address and message you provide to info@verbum.biz so Verbum can respond to your enquiry. The Contact page form sends your name, email address, message and any optional phone number, course interest, Spanish level or preferred start date you provide to the same address for that purpose.
Contact form submissions are delivered through Verbum’s authenticated email and hosting infrastructure. The website does not store them in a separate contact-form submission database. Entries remain in the form if delivery fails and are cleared only after confirmed delivery. Closing or refreshing the page may discard them; your browser’s own autofill settings may also affect what it remembers.
Spanish Level Test
The Spanish Level Test asks for contact details, self-assessment answers, grammar responses and written responses. When you submit the test, this information is sent to info@verbum.biz so Verbum staff can estimate your current Spanish knowledge, recommend an appropriate course or level, and contact you about your enquiry.
The test is a placement tool, not an official language certification exam. It does not calculate an automatic CEFR level or make an automated placement decision.
Test submissions are delivered through Verbum’s authenticated email and hosting infrastructure. The website does not store them in a separate Level Test submission database.
Kit and newsletter subscriptions
We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for newsletter signup and delivery of 5 Porteño Phrases You’ll Actually Hear in Buenos Aires. When you voluntarily subscribe, your email address is submitted to Kit, which processes it for Verbum’s email communications. You may receive the requested resource and Verbum emails.
Kit software is not loaded when the page first opens. It is loaded only when you choose to interact with the signup form, such as by selecting or focusing its email field or submit button. Once loaded, this software can use browser storage and record form-related interactions to support signup functionality and measure form use.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in Verbum emails. Unsubscribing from marketing does not necessarily stop service-related communications if you are an active student or have an ongoing enquiry. See Kit’s Privacy Policy for its own practices.
WhatsApp and social links
Our WhatsApp links take you to a service operated by WhatsApp, part of Meta. If you choose to communicate there, the information you send is also subject to WhatsApp’s privacy practices.
Our Instagram and Facebook links open Verbum’s profiles on third-party Meta services. Once you visit those platforms, their privacy policies govern your use of them. These are ordinary links, not embedded social feeds or Meta Pixel tracking. Merely displaying these links does not embed a Meta tracking tool on this website.
Google Maps
The Contact and Buenos Aires pages offer optional Google Maps. Google is not contacted when the page first loads. A map is loaded only when you choose the “Load Google Map” option; Google may then process technical information according to its own privacy practices.
Google controls its embedded service and any technologies it uses. Our website does not control Google’s data handling.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website’s own application code does not set advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not use browser storage to save Contact or Level Test answers. Fonts are served from the website rather than requested from an external font provider.
Third-party components may use cookies, local storage or other technologies under their own policies. Kit’s form script includes browser-storage and form-measurement functions. Google Maps is not loaded until you choose to load it. The presence and behavior of third-party cookies can depend on the provider, your browser settings and your interaction with the component.
You can manage cookies and stored website data in your browser. Blocking third-party technologies may affect signup forms or maps.
How information is used
When information is received through an available channel, Verbum may use it to:
- respond to enquiries and recommend a suitable Spanish course;
- assess Spanish Level Test responses;
- provide requested resources and send emails to subscribers;
- provide educational services and maintain appropriate records;
- maintain and improve the website and address misuse or technical problems.
Verbum does not sell personal information.
Sharing information
Information may be processed by service providers where needed to operate the relevant service, such as Kit for email signup and communications. Embedded third-party platforms may also process information when their components load or are used, as described above. The homepage enquiry form, Contact page form and Spanish Level Test use Verbum’s hosting and authenticated email infrastructure for delivery.
Website hosting and email infrastructure may process technical information needed to operate those services.
Data retention
Emails received through the homepage enquiry form may be retained for up to 12 months. If the person becomes a student, relevant records may be retained for longer where needed for administrative or legal purposes.
Other personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing educational services, maintaining appropriate records and complying with applicable obligations. Retention may vary with the type of information and the service used.
Data security
Verbum takes reasonable measures to protect personal information. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. Under applicable Argentine law, these may include rights of access, correction, updating and deletion. Where applicable, you may also withdraw from marketing communications or ask how your information is handled.
Contact info@verbum.biz to make a request. We may need information to verify your identity and understand the request. Applicable obligations may affect what information can be deleted or retained. You can also use the unsubscribe link in our marketing emails.
Children
The public website and newsletter are not specifically directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the situation.
Third-party links
This website links to services Verbum does not control, including social networks, messaging platforms and TripAdvisor. Visiting an external site is subject to that provider’s privacy practices. A link does not mean that the external service is embedded on the page.
International visitors
Verbum is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and serves students internationally. Third-party services may process information in countries other than your own. Their practices and applicable protections depend on the service and relevant law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, our services or legal requirements change. The date above indicates when it was last updated.
