About Verbum
Spanish is more than something you study.
It’s something you learn to use, understand and make your own.
For more than 20 years, Verbum has helped students from around the world learn Spanish in Buenos Aires and online.
Our approach combines real conversation, individual attention, clear feedback and the language, culture and everyday life of Argentina.
Verbum is a Spanish school in Buenos Aires with more than 20 years of experience, specializing in mini groups of 2–3 students, individual lessons, online Spanish classes and preparation for DELE, SIELE, CELU and AAPPL.
How we got here
How small groups changed the way we teach
For many years, Verbum offered Spanish classes in the traditional format used by most language schools: larger groups, fixed schedules and many hours of classroom instruction.
After the pandemic, something unexpected happened. Our groups became much smaller — often just two or three students.
And we noticed a remarkable difference.
Students spoke more. Teachers could listen more closely. Corrections became more personal. Confidence grew faster.
What began as a practical change became one of the foundations of the way we teach today.
- More time to speak
- More individual feedback
- More opportunities to ask questions
- More attention to pronunciation and natural expression
- More confidence using Spanish outside the classroom
We realized that progress is not simply about spending more hours in class.
It is about what happens during those hours.
Conversation & feedback
What we believe about learning Spanish
Apps, videos and AI can be useful tools. They can help you review vocabulary, understand grammar and practise independently.
But language becomes communication only when you use it with another person.
That is why conversation and feedback are at the centre of the Verbum experience.
At Verbum, you have space to:
- speak without being rushed
- make mistakes without embarrassment
- receive corrections that are useful for your level
- learn how Spanish actually sounds in everyday life
- build the confidence to keep a conversation going
Spanish beyond the classroom
Learn the language.
Understand the culture.
Join the conversation.
Grammar matters. Vocabulary matters. But a language also carries ways of thinking, stories, humour, habits and culture.
That is why our classes often bring Buenos Aires and Argentina into the learning experience — through everyday expressions, conversations, literature, local culture and the situations students encounter while living in the city.

Meet Marina Boschi

Teaching has been part of my life for much longer than Verbum itself.
I originally studied Business Administration and Economics and worked in the corporate world. At the same time, I began teaching at university — first as a teaching assistant in Microeconomics and Management & Costs.
A seemingly small experience changed my direction: helping a friend prepare for the DELE exam reminded me how much I loved teaching languages.
I later studied Philosophy and specialized in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. More than 20 years ago, that path became Verbum.
Since then, I have taught students from many different countries, levels and backgrounds — always with the same idea in mind: Spanish should go beyond grammar exercises.
For me, language is a bridge between people, places and stories. Buenos Aires, literature, culture and everyday conversation naturally become part of the classroom.
The people behind Verbum
Verbum works with experienced Spanish teachers who share the same approach: careful listening, clear explanations, meaningful conversation and attention to each student.
We believe good teaching is not about speaking more than the student.
It is about creating the conditions in which the student can speak more.
Buenos Aires is your social programme
We do not build the Verbum experience around large organised activities for international students.
Buenos Aires already gives you countless opportunities to use Spanish: cafés, neighbourhoods, shops, restaurants, cultural events and everyday conversations.
Our job is to give you the language and confidence to take part in them.
The goal is not to create a bubble around the school.
It is to help you step outside it.
