Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 2026
These terms apply to Spanish courses and related educational services offered by Verbum Spanish School in Buenos Aires and online.
Verbum is based at Jerónimo Salguero 553, C1177 Buenos Aires, Argentina. For questions, contact info@verbum.biz.
Courses and services
Verbum currently offers:
- Mini Group Spanish Classes in Buenos Aires
- Individual Lessons in Buenos Aires
- Online Spanish Lessons
- Spanish Exam Preparation
- In-company Spanish training
- Tailored programs for university and institutional groups
Regular Mini Groups are intentionally limited to 2–3 students. Larger groups are accepted only as pre-formed groups travelling or studying together through a university, study-abroad program, educational institution or similar organization.
In-company and institutional programs may have specific terms agreed separately in a written proposal or quotation.
Bookings and payment
- Payment is required before the relevant course, lesson or study period begins.
- Mini Groups are paid one week in advance, week by week.
- Packs and individual lessons must be paid according to the terms shown or agreed at booking.
- A booking is confirmed once the required payment has been received or another arrangement has been explicitly agreed by Verbum.
Prices and currency
Prices displayed on the website are generally stated in US dollars unless otherwise indicated. Payments may also be accepted in Argentine pesos.
Payments in Argentine pesos are calculated using the Banco Nación Argentina selling exchange rate in effect at the time of payment.
Discounts
Discounts apply only where they are explicitly offered for the relevant course, pack or payment method.
Pack discounts and cash-payment discounts should not be assumed to combine unless Verbum explicitly confirms this for the booking.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Individual, online and exam-preparation lessons
- Lessons may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge when Verbum receives at least 24 business hours’ notice.
- If less than 24 business hours’ notice is given, the lesson is considered taken and is charged or deducted from the student’s pack.
- A no-show is treated in the same way as a late cancellation: the lesson is considered taken.
Late arrivals
If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the originally scheduled time. The lesson is not extended automatically because of student lateness.
Mini Group absences
A missed Mini Group class may be recovered when the student gives Verbum at least 5 business days’ notice.
Packs
- Packs are valid for 60 days and are subject to availability.
- Once a pack has started, it is generally non-refundable, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.
- If a group is no longer available, remaining credit may be converted to individual lessons using the applicable individual-lesson rate.
Refunds
Before a course or pack begins, a refund may be requested.
After a course or pack has begun, payments are generally non-refundable. Verbum may agree to an exception at its discretion depending on the circumstances.
Nothing in these terms is intended to limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Teachers
Verbum aims to provide continuity with the assigned teacher whenever possible. However, Verbum may change the teacher when reasonably necessary because of illness, scheduling, availability or other operational circumstances.
Where possible, Verbum will aim to maintain continuity of level, objectives and course content.
Verbum cancellations, force majeure and technical issues
If Verbum must cancel, interrupt or modify an in-person or online lesson because of circumstances reasonably outside its control, it will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate solution.
These circumstances may include teacher illness, power or internet outages, building or facility problems, lack of essential services, major transport disruption, street closures, exceptional weather, safety-related circumstances, force majeure or other unexpected events that make the scheduled lesson impracticable.
Depending on the circumstances, a solution may include rescheduling the lesson, moving an in-person lesson online or offering another reasonable alternative. Any switch to online teaching will be reasonable in the circumstances and communicated to the student.
This does not limit any remedy required by applicable law.
Online lessons
Students are responsible for having a reasonably stable internet connection, a suitable device, audio and video capability where needed, and a quiet enough environment to participate.
If a technical failure is clearly on Verbum’s side, Verbum will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide an alternative. If a technical failure is on the student’s side and the lesson cannot proceed, the normal cancellation and attendance rules may apply.
Study materials
Study materials used in regular Verbum courses are included unless otherwise stated. This does not mean that every external textbook or third-party publication is included.
Official examination fees, registration fees and fees charged by examination centers or external providers are not included unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Exam preparation
Verbum provides preparation for DELE, SIELE, CELU and AAPPL. Verbum is not an official examination center for these exams and does not administer them.
Students are responsible for registering for and paying for the official examination through the relevant authorized examination center or provider.
Results
Verbum provides professional teaching, feedback and preparation, but cannot guarantee a particular language level within a fixed period, success in an official examination, a specific test score or a particular fluency outcome.
Results depend on factors including attendance, previous level, study time, practice and individual progress.
In-company and university / institutional programs
In-company Spanish training and programs for university or institutional groups may have customized terms concerning schedule, participant numbers, location, duration, cancellation, payment, materials and program design.
Where a written proposal, quotation or agreement contains specific terms, those specific terms apply to that program in addition to these general Terms & Conditions.
Conduct
Students are expected to treat teachers, staff and other students respectfully and not engage in disruptive, abusive or unsafe behavior. Verbum may take reasonable action where behavior significantly disrupts classes or affects the safety or wellbeing of others.
Privacy
Personal information is handled as described in Verbum’s Privacy Policy.
Changes to courses or terms
Verbum may update schedules, teachers, teaching arrangements, website information or these Terms & Conditions when reasonably necessary. Where a material change affects an existing booking, Verbum will communicate it as appropriate.
These updates do not give Verbum an unlimited right to change paid services without notice or limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
